Legal Background

Michael Frey has been practicing law in a wide variety of venues and legal areas for 25 years, and has taken over 70 jury trials to verdict during this time. He spent several years as an attorney with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Office, handling special and general court marshals, administrative boards and article 15’s. After his Honorable Discharge from the Army, Michael has spent over 20 years handling complex civil litigation. Michael has exceptional expertise and extensive experience in the areas of construction defect, personal injury, products liability and wrongful death litigation, along with fire and personal injury claim investigations involving cause and origin determinations. He also specializes in pre-litigation preparation for insurance carriers and corporate clients, including those involving large losses, (in excess of $100 million dollars).

His extensive trial experience has allowed him to successfully prepare and argue appeals to the Iowa and Nebraska Supreme Courts and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.

About Michael

Michael is a native of the Siouxland area, having grown up here and graduated from South Sioux City High School in Nebraska. He remained in the region to receive his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Westmar College and then went on to graduate with honors from Drake University School of Law with his Juris Doctor degree 1990.

 

He and his wife, Lisa, are active members of the Siouxland community, and have two children– Bryce and Kayla.
